Twelve Panels, One Feeling

A dashboard works best when its panels share a consistent scale, color meaning and time range, so together they tell one coherent story instead of twelve separate ones.

Twelve charts on one page can say twelve different things, or one. Twelve Panels, One Feeling is about the second outcome: a shared time range, consistent colors and a layout that leads the eye from the headline number to the detail behind it. The page gives one overall impression before any single tile is read.

Fix the conventions once. The same color for the same category everywhere, the same filters applying to every tile, the same units on the axes. Then remove any panel that does not support the question the dashboard exists to answer.
