Data volume is easy to brag about. Time to insight is the harder number: how long a stakeholder waits between asking a question and acting on a trustworthy answer. It includes access requests, finding the right table, writing the query and arguing about the definition.

Each of those steps can be shortened. Clear naming, a shared semantic layer and fast queries all cut the wait. Measure it on one real question this week. The figure is usually embarrassing, and for that reason it is the best improvement target on the roadmap.
