Agent swarms can run long tasks in the background, working through many steps asynchronously while people do other things and check in on the result later.
Long tasks do not need a person watching every step. A swarm of agents can be given a job, work through it in parallel in the background and report back, at a pace that suits the task instead of the impatient. The Swarm Goes for a Stroll is for the moment you hand something off and walk away.
Delegation works when the brief is clear and the checkpoints are visible. Define what finished means, set limits on scope and cost, and review the result with the same care as a colleague’s work. The pace can be unhurried. The standards cannot.
