Silver Lining Schema
In the medallion architecture the silver layer holds cleaned, deduplicated and conformed data derived from raw bronze tables, serving as the trusted middle step before business-ready gold.
Raw data arrives with its own opinions about types, names and nulls. The silver layer is where you overrule them: dates become dates, keys are deduplicated, columns get consistent names, and bad rows are flagged instead of swallowed.
Silver Lining Schema is the optimism of that step. The mess is real, and it is also fixable. Do the conformance once, here, and every model downstream inherits it. Keep the lineage back to bronze intact, so when someone questions a value you can show where it came from.
