May I, Please
An access request workflow lets someone ask for permission to data, routes the request to its owner and records who approved what, replacing informal favors and shared credentials.
Somebody needs a table they cannot read. The old way is a chat message, a favor and a shared login. May I, Please is the better way: a request that names the data and the reason, reaches the person who owns it and leaves a record of the decision.
Good access control is fast for the right people and boring for everyone else. Grant the smallest scope that does the job, set an expiry where you can and review grants regularly. Courtesy and least privilege turn out to be the same habit.
