A long-running engineering joke that deploying on Friday is discouraged because any breakage lands on the weekend, when fewer people are available to fix it.
The rule says no deploys on Friday, and the rule exists because of every engineer who said why not. Deploy on Friday Why Not is dry defiance for the small, reversible, well-tested change that is surely safe. Surely.
Here is the classy version of the gamble: feature flags, a rollback you have rehearsed, and dashboards open before you hit merge. Confidence is earned by preparation, not by the calendar. Ship it if you can undo it by dinner.
