A Couch in the Warehouse
A data warehouse is a central store of cleaned, modeled data built for analysis, and making it comfortable means analysts can find what they need, trust it and stay a while.
Warehouses have a reputation for being cold: rows on shelves, forklifts at night. A Couch in the Warehouse argues the opposite. A warehouse is where modeled, named, tested data lives in one place, so an analyst can sit down with a question instead of hunting for the right extract. Comfort here is engineering: consistent names, documented columns, tables that mean what they say.
Walk through yours as a newcomer would. If the customer table takes more than two minutes to find, add the cushions: a description, an owner and an example query.
