We Build in the Dark
A motto for builders who do the unglamorous foundation work, such as pipelines, models and tests, out of sight until something goes wrong or a launch succeeds.
Most of the value in a data platform is invisible. Nobody celebrates the test that caught a bad load or the model that made a query trivial. We Build in the Dark is the creed of the people who do that work, knowing the best result is a dashboard that simply works.
There is a quiet pride in it. You measure success by the incidents that did not happen and the questions that got easy. Keep shipping foundations, keep writing them down, and let the visible layer take the applause. You know what held it up.
