The Last ETL Run
The final run of an ETL (extract, transform, load) pipeline before it is retired or replaced, a bittersweet milestone in any migration.
A job that has run every night for years, written by someone who has since moved on, handling edge cases nobody remembers: that is what The Last ETL Run switches off.
Do it with respect. Compare outputs with the replacement for a full cycle, archive the code and the logs and record the undocumented rules you discovered along the way. Then let it finish its final pass. Legacy pipelines earn a proper goodbye, because every one of them kept the business supplied with numbers when it mattered.
