Pipeline Dreams
A data pipeline is an automated sequence that moves data from sources through transformations to a destination, and dreaming of one means imagining it running flawlessly end to end.
A clean diagram comes first: sources on the left, tables in the middle, trusted metrics on the right, nothing in between that can fail. Pipeline Dreams keeps that diagram honest by reminding you what the real version needs: retries, alerts, tests and an owner.
Dream first, because good architecture starts with a clear picture. Then add the failure modes one by one until the picture looks like production. The best pipelines are optimistic in design and pessimistic in operation.
