Once Upon a Bar Chart
Data storytelling arranges charts and commentary into a sequence with a setup, a turn and a conclusion, so the audience understands what changed and what to do about it.
Charts alone show what happened. A story says why it matters. Once Upon a Bar Chart is the craft of sequencing: a clear setup, the change that complicates it and the recommendation that follows. One chart per point, a title that states the finding and annotations where the audience might otherwise guess.
Edit ruthlessly. If a chart does not move the story forward, it belongs in the appendix. Start from the decision the audience has to make and work backward, and the order of the slides becomes obvious.
