JOIN the Tables

A SQL JOIN combines rows from two or more tables using a related column, most often a key, and the title doubles as an invitation to sit down and combine them.

Data lives in separate tables for good reasons, and it becomes useful only when someone joins them. JOIN the Tables is the invitation to that meeting: orders meet customers, events meet sessions, and the key decides who sits next to whom.

Before you run it, know the grain of each side and whether the relationship is one-to-one or one-to-many. A join on the wrong key is a confident wrong answer. For once, write the ON clause slowly.
