End of Day Checkpoint
A checkpoint is a saved state from which work can safely resume, and in data work it can be a recorded stopping point for a job or a daily review of where things stand.
A streaming job records its offset so it can resume without starting over. A person deserves the same courtesy. End of Day Checkpoint is the five minutes in which you write down what is done, what is blocked and where tomorrow begins.
It costs almost nothing and saves the first hour of the next morning, which is otherwise spent rebuilding context. Commit the branch, note the open question, close the tab. Then leave properly, with your state saved.
