Cold Start Warm Heart
A cold start is the slow first run of a system with empty caches or idle compute, such as a serverless function or freshly restarted query engine, before it reaches normal speed.
The first request after a restart is always the slowest: caches empty, connections unopened, the engine still stretching. Cold Start Warm Heart makes peace with that. Give the system a minute and it will remember how fast it can be.
It also fits the new hire on day one, or any project in its first week, when nothing is tuned and everything is loading. Patience at this stage is an engineering input. Warm the cache, warm the team, and judge performance afterward.
