Cache Invalidation Evening
Cache invalidation, deciding when a stored copy of data is stale and must be refreshed, is famously one of the genuinely hard problems in computing.
You fixed the data, the source agrees, and the screen still shows yesterday. Cache Invalidation Evening is the ritual of asking which layer is holding the old answer: browser, CDN, application cache, or the query result cache you forgot you enabled.
The old joke ranks invalidation among the hard problems, and it earns the rank because staleness is polite. It never throws an error. Keep this playing while you purge each layer in turn and finally see the number you were promised.
