Backfill Season
A backfill re-runs a pipeline over past time ranges to fill in, or correct, data that was missing or computed wrongly.
Some seasons on a data team arrive with a logic fix and a long date range. Backfill Season is that stretch: partition by partition, the past gets corrected while the present keeps shipping, and watching progress bars becomes a hobby.
The craft is doing it idempotently, in sensible chunks, without starving production of resources. Nobody applauds a clean backfill, which is precisely how you know it went well. Queue the next window and let history catch up.
